There are two principal Sailing / Boating centers on the Costa Tropical. These  are located in Motril and between La Herradura and Almunecar at Marina Del Esté.

Many of the beaches have small pleasure craft pulled up onto the sand and during the summer months lying to buoys just offshore in shallow water.

Costa Tropical Boat Hire offer various boat types for rent from inflatable's to 6 metre motor boats.

These are ideal for family outings  and fishing trips.

There are lots of small coves and beaches on the Costa Tropical including;
Cabria, Tesorillo, Velilla, Cotobro, Maro, & La Herradura.

Marina Del Esté
Also known as Puerto de la Mona, Marina del Esté is an International Yacht harbour with excellent facilities.

There are 230 berths maximum 30 metres and depth 3 metres.
Visitors berths are generally available but call the Capitania ahead on 958 827 018 to be certain.

There is a 30 ton travel hoist, 3 ton crane and hard standing available.
Restaurants and shops on the Quayside.
There is a long waiting list for permanent berths.
Marina Del Esté beach
There are some fine beaches along the coast.

The beach to the right is just beside the Yachting Marina.
Motril & Salobreña
Motril is a commercial and fishing harbour take care in the approach large craft often lie off the entrance.

There are 125 berths maximum 20 metres and depth 8 metres.
Visitors berths are generally available but call the Capitania ahead on VHF Ch. 9 to be certain. larger craft will swing in the harbour to anchor.

There is a 7.5 ton crane and hard standing available for small craft only.
This is a private yacht club.

Motril Yacht Club
Motril yacht club is a popular venue for sailing regatta's and during the summer months welcomes competitors from many parts of Spain.

There is a junior section to the club with excellent training facilities for budding yachtsmen
