La Herradura
at
La Herradura is a small Andalucian white village situated in a large beautiful horse shoe bay. There is over a mile of beaches. The name "La Herradura" means ‘horse shoe’ in Spanish and this is just how the bay looks, enclosed by two huge rocky points - one at either end.

La Herradura is principally a Spanish family resort during the summer months but throughout the rest of the year is a working vibrant village.

There are a number of Dive Schools located in La Herradura. The area is known as one of Spain’s best Diving locations.
There are a number of sheltered bays close by and there is always a good place to dive, normally with excellent visibility to observe the plentiful fish life.
For Good reason this area is called “Costa Tropical” (and is 5 KM from the resort town of Almunecar, 7 Km. from Nerja, 80 Km from Málaga.

La Herradura also has a large number of “Chiringuitos” ( typical beach restaurants) you will be sure to enjoy the local seafood, expertly cooked on the edge of the beach.

Our subtropical climate has an average of 320 sunny days and only 20 rainy days per year.
